RS5 - T16 Touring Car Features

Carbon Monocoque Chassis With T-Series Chassis Components
(compatible with any standard Zenoah engine)

The RS5 cars are well known about the robust construction, as the German nickname “The Panzer” shows. Thanks for our unique Carbon-Alloy hybrid chassis concept we can make a robust car without having overweight or without the need to under dimension some parts of the car. Our actual Carbon Monocoque chassis is the result of long years development and research to find the optimal number and angle between the different carbon layers to make the chassis strong, durable and with a right amount of sideways torsion to support our unique controlled-flex concept.

Controlled-Flex Design

Our three pieces top deck design is the key part of our controlled-flex design and allows you easy access to the servos. The RS5 T-series touring cars are the only ones on the market which give you the possibility to adjust the car from a 100% stiff to a very flexible setup by opening different flex windows. The middle top deck should be used only when the car is adjusted to 100% stiff configuration. Remounting it, you have to unscrew three screws and two nuts. Without the middle top deck, each servo can be changed easily.

Suspension Geometry

The unique features of the RS5 cars are unlimited adjustability of the suspension geometry. We use spacers under and over the wishbone ball joints and with the height of them you can adjust the roll center of the car. You can change the spacers inside and outside of the front lower and upper wishbones to adjust the front roll center. We have roll center spacers from 2mm to 10mm height.

New Rear Suspension Geometry (New in 2016)

New 2016 version rear shock tower and upper wishbone mount with oval plastic insert allows you to change the position of the rear upper wishbone up and down by twisting or changing them. We have two types of inserts and you can change the height of the rear upper wishbone by 1,5mm increments. You can adjust the rest of the suspension with the thickness of the spacers, they are under and above wishbone ball joints. You can change the spacers inside and outside of the rear lower wishbone and outside of the rear upper wishbones to adjust the rear roll center. We have roll center spacers from 2mm to 10mm height.

All-In-One RC Unit (New in 2016)

The new 2016 version receiver box mounted to the servo tray, on the top of the servos creating a compact All-in-one RC unit that you can assemble in our out easily. The receiver box is CNC machined and it is made of high quality plastic. The servo tray has alloy servo mount plates that allow you to mount/remount the servos from the top easily. The alloy servo mount holes are threaded, so no nuts needed under the servo tray and it makes the servo change very easy.

Complete Servo Tray Change
The complete servo tray can also dismounted easily by removing the middle and front top deck (all in all 5 screws and 2 nuts if the middle top deck used) (if the middle top deck was not used then only 3 or 5 screws), disconnecting the steering and throttle/brake linkages, unscrewing the 6pcs. fixing bolts of the servo tray (4 from top and 2 from bottom) and the servo tray is out.

Our ultra-strong servo arms made of aluminum and they have perfect fit because of the small tightening screws. The brakes are pulled by a special double ball-joined linkage, that can slide in when throttle move is underway.

Front Wheel Hubs (New in 2016)

New 2016 version front wheel hubs with 4 different offset positions on the top. The back inside hole was the basic hole on the T15 and earlier cars. The holes are 6-6 mm offset from each other. The different offset has effect to the rear traction and the steering characteristic of the car.  The hubs are made of  CNC machined 7075-T6 alloy. They have high quality, small and low friction bearings. The front steering arm has 4 ackerman positions which allows you to find the best steering characteristic that fits to your driving style.

Rear Wheel Hubs

The rear wheel hubs are made of CNC machined 7075-T6 alloy. They have high quality, small and low friction bearings. The driveshaft is in the center of the hub to create more smooth acceleration and generates less vibration on the wheel.

Front Wishbone (New in 2016)

New 2016 version of front wishbones with center axis ball anti-roll bar. We moved the front anti-roll bar in the centerline of the wishbone to reduce dynamic droop change during suspension movement. If the anti-roll bar mounted on the top of the wishbone (like on the T15 and many other brands car), during suspension movements left and right side droops are changing and making the car not the same in left and right hand corners. When the anti-roll bar mounted in center line of the wishbone (center of rotation) then the left and right side droops stay equal. The wishbone made of 7075-T6 alloy and has zero play Steel/Brass hybrid ball joints.

Rear Wishbone

The rear wishbone made of 7075-T6 alloy and has zero play Steel/Brass hybrid ball joints. The rear roll-bar holder has a plastic ball insert to reduce vibration and to avoid breaking. This holder also allows you an easy and precise adjustment. The rear anti-roll bar mounted in center line of the wishbone (center of rotation) so the left and right side droops stay equal during suspension movements.

Servo Saver

Our servo saver has centering balls, to make a very precise and strong, click feel centering effect. With this method the steering system has almost zero dead zone/play. The advantage of this servo saver is adjustability and it has double ball bearings designed to work play free and gently.

Drivetrain Gears

Hard coated fine teeth (module 1) steel gears for clutch bell, lay shaft and differential to make the drivetrain more efficient. Standard clutch gear is 35t (34 and 36 optional), lay shaft big gear 62t, standard lay shaft small gear has 24 teeth (23 and 25 optional) and 72t diff gear (possible to mount to any RS5, FG and SCS diffs).

Brake Master Cylinder

Our bottom mounted brake master cylinders are also supports the servo plate. This setup minimalize the flexing between the servo > servo plate > brake cylinder, so it makes the barking as precise as possible. The push-rod arm of the cylinder is long and has high level arm ratio to make the brake-force and brake-balance adjustment more precise. The brake master cylinder mounted directly to the chassis to reduce the center of gravity.

Brake Calipers

Our Brake caliper has small piston to make the brake less drastically, to make the tires lock-up as late as possible at the barking zone to allow you to brake into the apex of the corner. A spring pushes the piston directly back to its original position, instead of pushing the brake pads and then the pistons. With this solution the brake deflate quicker. To reduce the bending of the outside pad we mount an alloy stiffener plate behind its back, fixed by three screws to increase the brake efficiency and avoid bending of the pads.

Big-Bore Shock Absorber

Our shock absorber has polished, hard coated shaft. Its main body, upper and bottom closing caps made of aluminum. The volume compensator membrane has reinforcement ribs. The Conical pistons are CNC machined from Derlin and has four holes as standard and two and three holes as optional.

Front Bumper

CNC machined two piece plastic front bumper. The bottom part is designed to protect the front end of the carbon chassis from a damage, the bumper loll under the line of the carbon chassis to protect it and it is also angled to allow lower front ride height.  The top part of the bumper will help to protect the car during an impact. With the new clips system remounting the foam during adjustment of the car is very easy.
